Mindfulness everyday: how to become more mindful everyday.

Everyday, you can incorporate a little bit of these to stay more mindful and practice being in the present moment more often (you can avoid the above posture too with mindful living).

1. Practice good posture and sit up straight (the lumbar curve must exist).
2. Notice one detail you’ve never noticed before on your daily path to work or school. Anything, anywhere, anyone, but something.
 3. Discover tea instead of coffee. There are so many varieties, redevelop your tastebuds by going into subtleties. Bring tea to work. (find the no chemical, as natural as possible, no pesticides ones).
4. Use less heater or A/C. Roll down your windows and let in the breeze (unless it's super hot or cold, just get used to the natural temperature, it is healthier).
5. Listen to a kirtan (chanted mantra CDs) or just silence, develop your hearing by focusing on one sound at a time. Travel in the space with sound. Separate the sound instead of taking it in all at once, become super skilled at it, become superman/superwoman.
6. Call your bro/sis/mom/dad/bf/gf/hubby/wifey, during your break just to say hi.
7. Pranayama (breathing exercises): inhale in three steps and exhale in three steps or inhale counting 8 slowly and exhale counting 8 slowly.
8. Instead of taking the same path, change it up, leave earlier to discover new routes. Take the scenic one.
9. If you don't drive, in a train/bus, close your eyes, pretend to sleep, meditate on your 5 senses.
10. Leave a little early and avoid the stress of running late. Make it a habit to get out the door with some wiggle room in your schedule.
11. Make a list of all the things that you appreciate now, stay in gratitude attitude!
12. Take off your earphones, turn off your cellphone, be in silence, observe, listen around you, wherever you are.
13. Exercise compassion toward other passengers/drivers. Give a benefit of the doubt when they do you wrong. Do not take anything personally whatever others do. They did not do that to you.
14. Bring a different healthy treat. Switch it up, make your own energy balls or just some mixed nuts.
15. Have a small bottle of essential oil handy. Inhale the scent to give you a little boost of mood.
16. Visualizing can be very powerful, so each day, visualize in the most positive way how everything will sail smoothly.
17. Recite a mantra or positive daily affirmation/motivation to get yourself going.
18. Pass a small smile at other drivers/passengers—or just the universe. Emanate an aura you want to project onto your surroundings.
19. Sing in the car. Recite, chant your mantras out loud.
20. If you work in the middle of the city, get a CD that has all the sound of nature and listen to this when you want to wander off the city.
21. Hold a door, help out a mom with a carriage, help a grandma to walk across the street. You will feel good, so do it for yourself. Practice being the best version of yourself and you will love yourself.
22. Learn something new everyday: brush your teeth with the other hand, chopsticks...become ambidextrous. You will exercise your brain. Avoid mental deterioration by doing this.
23. Make a list of your do-list and go by priority. Make a do-list for the week, month, year. At the end of the day, month, year, you will be proud of all the things you have checked on that list.
24. Practice being neutral, whatever thoughts pass by you, do not react. You will see that reacting do not have to be automatic, but it is a decision. Then, the temper you thought was part of your character, do not have to be part of you anymore.
25. Change your transportation. If you usually drive to work, try taking the bus, train, or subway.
26. Practice laughter yoga. Laugh for no reasons and it will make you laugh for real. Endorphin is a stress release hormone. Use it!
27. Instead of walking pass everything being so caught up in your thoughts, walk as if you are a tourist: notice, observe, listen...take a stroll. Walk the proper walk I showed you guys: heal to toes with straight feet.
28. No lies. Speak only the truth. If the truth might hurt, it sounds inappropriate, do not say perhaps but do not say any lies even if you were almost forced to say a compliment. Accumulations of lies you tell in you will become toxic at one point.
29. Check your posture while on a seat: back, legs, knees distance, shoulders, neck...
30. Do not rush, leave earlier, do not run, walk properly everywhere. Take your time.
31. Plan how you can reward yourself for following all this list–whether that’s a nice dinner you will cook or go try a new restaurant or a vacation/ weekend getaway not too far or a staycation (go to a hotel in your own city and act like a tourist, discover something you didn't know before).
32. Upon your arrival, greet others with a radiant smile (real one coming out of your deep heart). Emanate joy, share happiness. See how your team at work or home change around you. You can be the atmosphere of your house or company. What kind of energy you want to bring to others, it is entirely your choice. But no fake smile, no forced smile. Cultivate inside, love yourself first and then sharing that to others will become easier.
33. Be mindful in each moment, be in the present by applying as many of the list above.
